10 Common CBD Questions Answered

Share

At Honest Hemp, we get a LOT of CBD questions. Since CBD is a relatively new craze, there is still lots of information about it that people simply don’t know! Well, in this article we will answer some of your top questions to try and clear some of the confusion and misconceptions surrounding this cannabinoid.

1. What Does CBD Stand For?

CBD stands for cannabidiol. It is one of the many hundreds of cannabinoids found in the hemp variety of the cannabis plant. Other cannabinoids include THC, CBG, CBC – just to mention a few.

2. What Are CBD Products?

Our CBD products include oils, gummies, or capsules that are infused with CBD extracts. People use these products to help boost their health and wellbeing or to treat specific health problems.

You can buy products that are consumed orally, such as oils and edibles, including sweets, drinks, chocolates or capsules. Alternatively, you can use CBD e-liquids that are vaped and inhaled. Recently, other products like CBD topicals have become popular – these are products that you apply directly to the skin in order to treat things such as dryness, redness, joint pain or muscle soreness.

3. What Does CBD Do?

CBD interacts with a special type of receptor in the body called endocannabinoid receptors – these help to make up the human endocannabinoid system. This system is responsible for regulating lots of different functions, including pain, sleep, mood, memory, appetite, and more. The human endocannabinoid system helps with homeostasis – the state of having a stable and healthy body, both physically and mentally.

Thereby, a large number of people have fount that, using CBD is helping them to balance and improve the functioning of this system.

4. Is CBD Oil Legal in the UK?

Yes, CBD oil is legal in the UK as long as it contains less than 0.2% THC. THC is the psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis that often gives CBD a bad or misunderstood reputation. However, legal CBD oil in the UK will never contain enough THC to have any psychoactive effects. All our products are 100% THC-free!

5. Does CBD Oil Get You High?

No, CBD oil will only ever contain less than 0.2% THC (the psychoactive cannabinoid of cannabis). This is a tiny amount, meaning that CBD oil won’t have any psychoactive effects or make you high. CBD in itself is completely nonpsychoactive.

6. How Does CBD Make You Feel?

Many people report that CBD makes them feel more relaxed, more focused, and less anxious. Some people use CBD to help with mood disorders such as depression or anxiety, suggesting that CBD can make you feel happier and calmer.

7. How Long Does it Take for CBD Oil to Work?

The answer to this question will vary depending on your individual body and biological makeup. However, when the average person takes CBD oil, it should reach the bloodstream within a few hours. In order for CBD to actually ‘work’ though, you will need to use it consistently for a longer period of time, otherwise, the effects will be very temporary.

Other CBD products, such as edibles or e-liquids, may work more quickly or slowly than CBD oil. For example, using CBD edibles will take longer as the product has to be digested (whereas oil is absorbed into the sublingual glands under the tongue). In contrast, a CBD e-liquid will work much, much faster as the CBD enters the bloodstream through the lungs very quickly.

8. How Long Does CBD Last?

CBD can stay in your system anywhere from 18 hours up to 5 days! However, this doesn’t mean the effects will last this long.

If you use CBD as a one-off, generally the effects will last for around 2-6 hours. But, it’s recommended that you use CBD daily for long-term benefits.

9. Can CBD Help With Anxiety?

One of the most common reasons that people use CBD is to relieve symptoms of anxiety. Many people report that taking CBD helps them to feel more relaxed, less agitated and anxious, and allows them to focus and concentrate more easily. Taking CBD can also help if you struggle to fall asleep due to anxiety.

10. Is CBD Good for Nerve Pain?

Another of the most common reasons that people use CBD is for pain relief. Since the endocannabinoid system directly impacts our pain response, it makes sense that using CBD could help with managing pain. Research also indicates that CBD can help with neuropathy pain specifically.
