Have you heard about ‘Novel Foods’?
You may have heard the term ‘novel foods’ if you’re familiar with CBD. CBD is often classified as a novel food, meaning it is a fairly new and unusual product that doesn’t have a long history of consumption – although it is not necessarily a ‘food’. For more detailed information on what exactly ‘novel foods’ means, check out our article here.
A new European law has been implemented which means all CBD producers, manufacturers and brands must obtain Novel Foods status before the 31st of March 2021. At Honest Hemp, we manufacture all of our CBD products ourselves. This means that we have full control over our own CBD extracts, our licences, and this process.
We are incredibly happy to announce that our team has successfully submitted our Novel Foods application for approval for both CBD isolate and broad-spectrum CBD.
We are proud to be one of the very few CBD producers to have completed this process. This means we are able to continue to provide the same high-quality products to our customers, and you can continue to buy in confidence with us!
Our primary focus at this time is ensuring that all of our past, present, and future customers will continue to have a high standard CBD product after the March deadline and that no one will be affected by the impending legislation.
